i am using microsoft excel 97 and the resolution to "sum
function returns zero in report output to microsoft excel"
query (Q154396), tells me to change the format of the
column i am summing to "fixed"...i can not find this
option. could you please tell me where and how to find
it? thank you so much for your help.

p.s. is that the only problem that i am facing, or is
there something else that i also need to change...thanks

It could also be that the "numbers" you are trying to sum
are actually text, select the column and format as number:
FORMAT > CELLS > NUMBER... select a number format, then
go to DATA > TEXT TO COLUMNS > FINISH and you will convert
all "text numbers" to "real number"...

Cheers
